The Ministry of Environment presents:
Case Studies for the Riparian Areas Regulations
Kamloops: December 10, 2007
Salmon Arm: December 11, 2007
You are invited to attend a workshop based on case studies about actual urban and rural land developments in BC. These case studies will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of reports submitted to the Province as required by the Riparian Areas Regulation (RAR). This Regulation requires an assessment of Riparian Areas during residential, commercial, and industrial development, to ensure that proposed activities will not harm fish habitat.
The workshops will be conducted in full day sessions; during the morning session a series of RAR report case studies will serve as catalysts to help you learn more about RAR, and the implications of the RAR process on your business; the afternoon session is an open discussion on RAR.
These workshops are intended to provide you with opportunities to discuss the pros and cons of the methods /applications used, to help participants understand the resource materials, and to exchange ideas/network with other planners, developers, QEPs, MoE staff and other interested parties.
